Even more Christmas.

This is the second year that we braved the hour-long wait to ride Mccormick-Stillman Railroad Park's Christmas train. The train park is one of the spots we frequent with the kids. During the Winter they transform it into beautiful light display with visits from Santa and hot cocoa! Last year I was pretty pregnant, so this year wasn't bad at all in comparison. Still... the things we do for our kids! While I waited in line, Brian walked around with the Em & Eisley, taking to see the characters and in ooh & awe at the lights. Emerson was extremely anxious about getting on the train and kept thinking it would leave him behind! There were a handful of mini-meltdowns, but oh was he happy once he climbed aboard! As exited the tunnel that lead to the display, Emerson gasped and exclaimed "We're in the North Pole!" Of course, I let him believe it. Both kiddos had twinkles in their eyes (both literally and figuratively ;) as we rode along the lights and decor. Eisley sat snuggled against Daddy, peering out from her blanket. Emerson had fun pointing out his favorite characters. We especially love the Charlie Brown display. We completed the night with hot cocoa and Christmas music on our cozy ride back home.

A few days later, we had our first taste of Christmas day with Aunt Katie! Since severing ties with the most of Brian's family (a whole, *very long, very dramatic*, different story that I'll spare you of,) we've tried to make time to celebrate with those that we still have contact with. We exchange gifts and have a delicious, homemade holiday meal. Katie was very lucky to give the kids their first presents of the year and Eisley's first Christmas presents ever! Emerson shredded through the paper in a heartbeat, even his sister's, and was excited about each and every gift. In true kid fashion, he insisted on playing with each one right then and there. She spoiled them... but that's what Aunts are for right?! She also gave Brian and I some awesome gifts. Thanks Katie!
